The program included three sessions: Advanced Additive Manufacturing Processes, Innovative Design and Optimization Methods, and Novel Applications of Additive Manufacturing. Additionally, the Excellence Cluster PhoenixD presented current research findings on Printed Optics in a poster session. The presentations and discussions focused particularly on the development and customization of specific materials, increasing process efficiency and speed, as well as approaches to additive repair. Further key topics included simulation methods for optimizing components and processes, as well as quality assurance measures—central prerequisites for the advancement and transfer of additive manufacturing technologies to new application fields. The scientific contributions will soon be published in cooperation with Springer Verlag.
Another highlight of the workshop was the tour of the SCALE research building, featuring a presentation of the innovative additive manufacturing facilities at LZH and IPeG.
We would like to thank all speakers for their contributions and all participants for the constructive exchange. Congratulations to Philipp Sauerzweig (Fraunhofer IAPT), who was awarded the Best Presentation Award for his talk “Automated Design and Validation of Components with Local Material Properties in Metal Additive Manufacturing.”
We look forward to welcoming many participants again at next year’s workshop.
