Patrik Müller is the new doctor at the IPeG!
New doctor at the IPeG! Our colleague Patrik Müller has successfully completed his doctorate. We congratulate Patrik on this great degree! In his dissertation, Mr Müller presents a knowledge-based approach to the automated individualisation of orthopaedic implants with regard to shape and topology. The focus is on the development of a process chain that is implemented in a computer-aided development environment. The process chain ranges from automated data acquisition to the optimisation of the implant shape and topology, using methods such as algorithmic design and numerical optimisation. The aim is to improve the accuracy of fit through an individualised shape and to minimise the effect of stress shielding through locally adapted grid structures.
